Background & Expertise:  Edward J. Bedrick, Ph.D., is a Professor of Statistics at UNM, where he holds a joint appointment between the Department of Internal Medicine and the Department of Mathematics and Statistics. He is also the Director of the Biostatistics Shared Resource in the UNM Cancer Research and Treatment Center. Dr. Bedrick received his Ph.D. from the University of Minnesota.


Research Interests & Activity:  Dr. Bedrick has extensive experience in the design and analysis of biomedical studies and in the development of statistical methodology (primarily for regression models, multivariate and categorical data). His current research focuses on regression models for longitudinal and functional data, and modeling variability. Dr. Bedrick is a Fellow of the American Statistical Association and recently completed a four year term (2002-2006) as a member of the Biostatistical Methods and Research Design review panel for NIH.

Background & Expertise
:  Dr. Huining Kang joined the Division faculty in October 2006 when he was recruited from the UNM Cancer Research and Treatment Center where he was serving as a senior statistician. He received both his M.Sc. and Ph.D. in statistics at the University of New Mexico.  Prior to that he had earned an M.Sc. in Applied Math at Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications.  Dr. Kang also taught mathematics and conducted research on applied math and forestry at Beijing Forestry University for a number of years.

Research Interests & Activity:  Biostatistics, Statistical Modeling, Statistical Computing, ROC analysis and Microarray data analysis.
