The division of General Internal Medicine at the University of New Mexico is dedicated to the compassionate care of our patients as well as the nurturing of a learning environment for our students and residents in training. Our scholarly work includes educational and research activities in anti-coagulation & thrombosis, patient–provider communication, Integrative Medicine, and health services research in primary care. Our Hospital Medicine program is well-established and expanding to take the lead role in quality/service administration for adult inpatient care at the UNM Health Sciences Center. Our Primary Care program is also actively engaged in developing highly innovative models of delivery to enhance access and care to ambulatory services. We are a diverse group of faculty yet have in common the earnest desire to serve our patients and learners in the best and most innovative ways afforded us by the university environment.
