Fellowship Program

Goals of the Program

To produce competent Rheumatologists with a life long interest in learning and teaching.

Specific Goals

  1. Expertise to be consultants in Rheumatology.
  2. Ability to manage patietns with simple and complex rheumatological problems.
  3. Training in all procedures used in the speciality, their indications and prefromance.
  4. The use of diagnostic tests, therapies and procedures, evaluating indication risk/benefit ration, cost and inconvenience.
  5. Acquire knowledge in immunology, molecular bioloby, biochemistry and pharmacology needed to understand and practice rheumatology.
  6. Become a teacher for residents and medical students.
  7. Develop a working understanding of research methodology to read and evaluate current rheumatological literature.
  8. Develop independent study habits to continue the quest for knowledge in clinical and research rheumatology.
  9. Do clinical or basic research of the fellow's choice.
