Goals of the Program
To produce competent Rheumatologists with a life long interest in learning and teaching.
Specific Goals
- Expertise to be consultants in Rheumatology.
- Ability to manage patietns with simple and complex rheumatological problems.
- Training in all procedures used in the speciality, their indications and prefromance.
- The use of diagnostic tests, therapies and procedures, evaluating indication risk/benefit ration, cost and inconvenience.
- Acquire knowledge in immunology, molecular bioloby, biochemistry and pharmacology needed to understand and practice rheumatology.
- Become a teacher for residents and medical students.
- Develop a working understanding of research methodology to read and evaluate current rheumatological literature.
- Develop independent study habits to continue the quest for knowledge in clinical and research rheumatology.
- Do clinical or basic research of the fellow's choice.
