Affymetrix Whole Genome SNP Assays

The current Affymetrix Genome-Wide Human SNP Array 6.0 GeneChip features 1.8 million genetic markers, including more than 900,000 single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) and more than 946,000 probes for the detection of copy number variation. The KUGR facility has excellent software tools for the analysis of whole genome association study data derived from Affymetrix 6.0 arrays. However, the analysis algorithms require that at least 48 arrays be analyzed in each experiment, so they are not designed for small experiments.
