Descriptions of Services and Facility Fees*
Affymetrix System
Full Service (RNA to Data) is available and is highly recommended for researchers who have limited or no experience working with RNA. The listed price includes all the required materials, kits and supplies (except GeneChips). Contact the KUGR staff for more details.
The cost to process an RNA sample is $190, including all reagents and labor (except the GeneChips), and including initial data analysis. Small amounts of RNA may require an additional amplification step at $120 per sample.
There is an additional $45 per-chip charge for each GeneChip analyzed on the Affymetrix instrument.
Additional microarray data analysis is sometime required and is charged at $80/hr.
None of the prices listed here include the cost of the Affymetrix GeneChips, which should be ordered through the UNM Cancer Research and Treatment Center. Contact the KUGR staff for price and ordering information.
Other Services
Agilent RNA/DNA Analysis System: $400 annual user fee (per lab)
The KUGR staff are highly skilled and experienced at most molecular biology methods, including real-time PCR, high throughput sequencing and human SNP detection. These services can be arranged and are billed at an hourly rate for labor plus reagents.
