Research Projects

NARCH—Tribal Community Cancer Project establishes interdependent research partnerships between the To’Hajiilee Band of Navajo Indians, the Jicarilla Apache Nation of New Mexico, the Albuquerque Area Indian Health Board (AAIHB), the Indian Health Service National Epidemiology Program (IHS NEP), The New Mexico Department of Health (NMDOH) Office of Epidemiology and the University of New Mexico Cancer Research and Treatment Center (UNM CRTC) in order to explore and examine individual, social, cultural and environmental factors related to disparities in breast, cervical, colorectal and prostate cancer survival in two American Indian tribes in New Mexico.
