
Seymour Grufferman, MD, Dr.PH, Research Professor earned his MD from State University of New York in Syracuse, and his MPH and Doctorate in Public Health in Epidemiology from the Harvard School of Public Health. Dr. Grufferman most recently was Professor in the Department of Family Medicine and Clinical Epidemiology at the University of Pittsburgh, and former Chairman of the department. Dr. Gruffman was also Associate Professor in the Department of Pediatrics at Duke University and Chief of the Clinical Epidemiology Division, Department of Pediatrics, at Duke University Medical Center. Dr. Grufferman is board certified in Pediatrics, and is a cancer epidemiologist whose research interests focus on the epidemiology of childhood cancer and lymphoreticular malignancies. Deirdre Hill, MPH, PhD, Assistant Professor earned her PhD in Epidemiology from the University of Washington in Seattle, and her MPH from the University of California in Los Angeles. Dr. Hill's research interests focus on female cancers, hematopoietic malignancies, and benign precursor tumors. In particular, she is interested in understanding the molecular, genetic, and environmental factors that contribute to the development of breast cancer among women with high risk benign breast disease, or high mammographic density. She is currently examining the role of genetic variants in growth factor and cell cycle genes in risk of benign breast disease and breast cancer, and the contribution of DNA repair genes to risk of Non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma. She is also currently working on a research project that examining genetic factors that increase or decrease risk of breast cancer development among women with benign breast tumors.

Hoffman, MD, MPH, Associate Professor earned his MD from Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine and his MPH in Epidemiology from the University of Washington. He completed his residency in internal medicine at the Oregon Health Sciences University. Dr. Hoffman is a general internist at the Albuquerque VA Medical Center and an associate professor of medicine at UNM. He has appointments in the divisions of General Internal Medicine and Epidemiology and Preventive Medicine. Dr. Hoffman's research interests focus on prostate cancer, including prostate cancer screening practices and outcomes, patient and physician knowledge, attitudes, and beliefs about screening, and clinical and quality of life outcomes for men with prostate cancer. Dr. Hoffman has also conducted research on low back pain, congestive heart failure, diabetes, colorectal cancer screening, and dizziness. His educational interests have focused on helping residents and students develop skills in critically evaluating the medical literature and introducing concepts of clinical epidemiology into medical practice. Dr. Hoffman's current research projects include the Prostate Cancer Outcomes Study, and Primary Care Colorectal Cancer Screening Surveillance System.

Kesler, MD, Associate Professor earned her MD from the University of South Dakota, Vermillion, and her MPH from the University of Minnesota, in Minneapolis. Dr. Kesler is also the Co-Director of the Program in Occupational and Environmental Health and Medical Director of the Occupational Health Services. Additionally, she is certified in Occupational Medicine through the American Board of Preventive Medicine. Her research interests focus on the health and safety of health care workers, and she is an active participant in the DOE/Johns Hopkins study of former Los Alamos National Laboratory workers.

Karen B. Mulloy, MD, Assistant Professor earned her Doctor of Osteopathy from the West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine, Lewisburg, WV, and her Master of Science Community Health from Marshall University, Huntington, WV. Dr. Mulloy is the Medical Director of the Occupational and Environmental Clinic, and she is the Director of the Program in Occupational and Environmental Health. Dr. Mulloy's research interests focus on the epidemiology of occupational diseases among miners, municipal workers, Department of Energy workers and agricultural workers.

he earned his MD.
Dr. Rosenberg's research interests focus on screening mammography
effectiveness and utilization. His current research
projects include The New Mexico Mammography Project, an NCI-funded research project that collects
population-based data on mammography outcomes and use in both urban and rural regions of the state.
Dr. Rosenberg has worked with the NMTR and the New Mexico Society of Radiologists in developing a population-based
mammography database that now is complete for the Albuquerque metropolitan area and will expand to other parts of the
state.
