Outreach

The Perinatal Outreach Education program supports the mission of the University of New Mexico, School of Medicine to engage in community service by providing continuing medical and nursing education for health professionals to promote quality perinatal care throughout New Mexico by:

  • Providing continuing education programs on a community needs basis for nurses and physicians that serve as a framework for promoting evidence based care
  • Promoting collaboration and networking with community and statewide professionals in women’s health
  • Assisting with the development establishment, and operation of high risk OB clinics in rural areas
  • Serving as a regional resource and referral center for standards and practices in perinatal care
