National Recognition

University of New Mexico Cancer Center has been named a National Cancer Institute-designated cancer treatment center. Along with the NCI designation, the UNM Cancer Center has been listed as one of the 50 best cancer centers.

Multidisciplinary Partners

Our ability to provide comprehensive cancer care is dependent on a team approach. We are lucky to work with great people in medical oncology, radiation oncology, anesthesia/pain management service, genetic counseling, psychology, nutrition and pathology.

Areas of Special Interest

Clinical

As gynecologic oncologists, we offer expertise in the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of gynecologic cancers. Gynecologic cancers include:

• Endometrial or Uterine cancer
• Cervical cancer
• Ovarian cancer
• Vulvar cancer

We also offer expertise in the management of difficult gynecologic surgical problems, molar pregnancy, and cancer in pregnancy.

We are currently the only hospital in New Mexico with the robotic surgical tool. This allows us to offer minimally invasive surgical approach ("band-aid surgery") to many cancer patients.

Research

We offer numerous clinical trials to our patients undergoing cancer care. This allows them to have the best and newest treatment options for their cancer.

Cancer survivorship issues and quality of life after cancer treatment.

Basic science and translation research programs to study the prevention of cervical and endometrial cancer.

Our main clinic appointment is the University of New Mexico Cancer Center in Albuquerque. We also provide outreach services to Santa Fe and Las Cruces. The clinic contact information and maps are provided below.
