PBL emphasizes organization of information around practice problems rather than disciplines, the use of case studies to allow integration of information, and a focus on cognitive skills as well as on knowledge.

Student Performance Assessment  (OTSPA)

The OTSPA was developed after the UNM School of Medicine Student Performance Assessment (SPA) and was adapted to meet the needs of the occupational therapy curriculum. The OTSPA is a way to assess the effectiveness of a PBL curriculum.
