Current Research

Richard S. Larson has research interest that include biochemical mechanisms of cell adhesion and new drug discovery. His lab studies mechanisms of leukocyte localization. Using a combination of computational and biologic techniques, we have developed a number of drug candidates for use in ischemia-reperfusion injury and Sin Nombre Virus infection.

He is the recipient of the College of American Pathology Lansky Award for his leadership in and contribution to the practice of pathology, UNM Regents Lecture ship for contribution to UNM, and American Cancer Society Designated National Investigator for the Coaches against Cancer and Hoops for Lymphoma/Leukemia.
