Masters Degree Program in Clinical Laboratory Sciences

Program Overview:

Our Master of Science degree program provides students with a broad-based, three semester core curriculum followed by specialized course work and an apprenticeship project. Research is conducted in one of the three following areas: faculty research laboratories, clinical laboratories or the University of New Mexico Medical Laboratory Sciences Program. Research, management or education represent three distinct arms of this professional MS degree program which graduate students may select. The need for advanced degreed personnel in these fields is considerable. Within the University and our clinical affiliate, TriCore Reference Laboratories, you may choose from over 100 research laboratories representing the following specialties:

• Cancer Biology and Epidemiology
• Cell Biology and Physiology
• Development and Stem Cell Biology
• Immunology
• Molecular and Biochemical Basis of Disease
• Molecular Genetics and Genomics
• Neuroscience
• Toxicology and Pharmacology
• Vascular and Respiratory Biology
• Virology and Microbial Pathogenesis
