Department of Pediatrics
Residency Programs
Our Greatest Strength is Our People
While we are very proud of our program, of our clinical care, and our educational curriculum, we know that our
greatest strength is our people. We strive to provide a rigorous and challenging training program in a caring,
nurturing and supportive environment to help you achieve your goals in pediatrics. Our residents exhibit a strong
work ethic and curiosity, but even stronger camaraderie and sense of group purpose. Our faculty are here to teach,
and they do it well. They are mentors and colleagues, not supervisors, and they work to help meet the individual
needs of each resident. The pediatric residency program is the lifeblood of the department of pediatrics, and
residents are involved in everything from intern selection, to curriculum design, to quality improvement and
patient safety, to improving the working environment. The education and wellbeing of residents is central to
everything we do. You will have a strong voice here.
Residency is one of the biggest decisions you will yet have faced. Excellence in training, geographic setting and
with whom you want to work, will all be important factors in this decision. Every year, a select group of bright,
energetic, creative and thoughtful people are drawn to our supportive and challenging environment.
We hope that you will consider joining us!
Our Goal is to Train the Next Generation of Leaders in Pediatrics
- Leaders in clinical medicine, whether it is in primary care in rural practice, or in subspecialty areas in academic centers;
- Leaders in advocacy within their communities;
- Leaders on the cutting edge of research.
- Ultimately, we strive to provide a balanced, well-rounded training program that will prepare you to meet the challenges that await.
