How to Apply to the Pediatric Residency Training Program

Thank you for your interest in our residency-training program. Applications should be as complete as possible when setting up an interview date with us.

Application Information

  1. Register through the National Resident Matching Program (NRMP) for a PL-1 position. We do not accept residents outside the match.

  2. Complete your application through the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS). All applications must come through this service. A complete application will include the common application form, medical school transcript, personal statement, USMLE/COMLEX scores, Dean’s letter (disbursed 11/1), three to four letters of recommendation and a passport-size photograph.

  3. Once we have received the application through ERAS, we will send you an e-mail through ERAS to let you know whether or not you’ve been invited to interview with our program. We conduct interviews on Wednesdays and Fridays, as noted above.

Graduates of Foreign Medical Schools

Applications will be accepted only through ERAS.

International Medical Graduates should apply through the ECFMG office- see instructions at http://www.ecfmg.org/ , or contact the ECFMG directly for further information.

In general, most International Medical Graduates we interview meet the following requirements:

  1. Green Card, J-1 Visa or documentation of US Citizenship.

  2. Valid ECFMG Certificate with Clinical Skills Assessment certification

  3. Evidence of a minimum of 4 months of clinical experience in the United States, preferably in an academic medical center setting

  4. 2 of 3 letters of recommendation from academic physicians you have worked with in the U.S.

  5. Minimum USMLE scores of 210 on both Step I and Step II
