lecture and cadaver-based laboratory course
Date: Saturday, March 10,
2012
Description: This course will use lecture and laboratory formats
to review the anatomy of the upper extremity and cervical spine as well as
key components of upper extremity joint kinesiology. The goal of the course
is to emphasize anatomical relationships in order to enhance the
participant’s clinical practice. The morning lectures will present an
overview of upper extremity and cervical spine anatomy followed by a
presentation on key kinesiology concepts of the upper extremity and cervical
spine. Patient cases will be presented to demonstrate the application of
fundamental anatomical knowledge to clinical decision making. The afternoon
laboratory session will be dedicated to the identification of
musculoskeletal and neurovascular structures on prosecuted cadavers, plastic
embedded human cross sections, radiographs, and other imaging modalities. At
the conclusion of the course, participants will have acquired a thorough
knowledge of upper extremity and cervical spine anatomy and kinesiology from
various perspectives.
