Our collaborative
is composed of practice based research networks.

About the Network

The partners of PRIME-Net understand the importance of collaboration and the shared vision of helping the medically under-served. The partnerships that have been forged now bring the total number of networks in the PRIME Net consortium to eight; together they span the country from coast to coast in the United States. Our Mission

PRIME Net represents a collaboration of CaReNet, CRN/UCSF, LA Net, Metro net, RIOS Net, SERCN, SOAR-Net and SPUR-Net for the purpose of conducting primary care practice-based research of national importance.

PRIME Net conducts collaborative primary care research to improve the health and well-being of the multiethnic patients and communities our members serve.

Insight Into Our Research Process

Four collaborative meetings were held over the course of a year to plan the pilot project for the collaboration. This began with joint meetings held with community representatives from the networks to determine priorities for focus of the project. This process of community collaboration is undertaken to conduct research of relevance to the communities served. A topic, design and methods were determined, and by the end of the year, a budget was finalized and presented for review.

An initial test of the collaborative communications, planning, and research processes was conducted during this period through a clinician survey of Hepatitus C virus management . The survey was fielded both electronically and in paper format, and proved very useful in refining electronic linkages for the PRIME-Net network. Since time permitted, second such test was conducted using a clinician survey regarding attitudes and management of chronic non-malignant pain .
