ADDICTION PSYCHIATRY FELLOWSHIP
TRAINING PROGRAM MISSION
The Mission of the Addiction psychiatry fellowship-training
program at the University of New Mexico is to provide additional training in the
subspecialty of Addiction psychiatry to residents who have completed a four-year
residency in the field of psychiatry. The fellow completing the one-year
fellowship should develop the clinical skills, judgment, demeanor, and
professional ethics with a level of scholarship and critical thought necessary
to provide the highest quality of patient care to patients with the addictive
disorders. The training program should serve as a resource for the state of New
Mexico for the management of Addiction problems of all types. The training
program should serve a pivotal role in the education of medical and other health
care professional students and practicing physicians in the state concerning
mental health care of the Addiction patient.

An interview is an essential part of the application process and involves one full day in Albuquerque. The division will extend an invitation for interviews and will provide hotel accommodation and lunch on the day of your interview.
