TEACHING RESOURCES

The Department of Psychiatry has conducted a training program for residents since the inception of the Medical School.  This program has grown from a single resident initially to about 35 at the present time.  The faculty number more than 90, including some 82 psychiatrists, 7 psychologists, and a number of social workers, nurses, and others.  In all, faculty participates in clinically based teaching for residents as well as didactic teaching.  Currently, the Addiction Psychiatry fellowship is one of four post residency training experiences.  The other three training programs are Child and Adolescent, Geriatric Psychiatry, Addiction and Research Psychiatry.
