TRAINING PROGRAMS

The Division of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry has three major training programs:

        ·  a child & adolescent psychiatry fellowship;

·   a pre-doctoral psychology internship;

In addition, the Division is actively involved in the training of psychiatry residents, pre-masters social work students, medical students, nursing students, special education teachers, and other professionals.

The child & adolescent psychiatry fellowship is a two-year program, with four available positions for each year. Fellows rotate through both inpatient and outpatient programs, including school-based clinics and outreach programs.

The child psychology internship is an APA-accredited one-year program, with five available positions. Interns participate in both inpatient and outpatient programs. The training model is interdisciplinary, multicultural, and developmental in orientation.

While each program offers independent seminars and supervision, much training is also multidisciplinary. The Division considers the multidisciplinary experience of its trainees to be a significant asset, but also strives to enhance professional identity and development within each discipline.
