Resident Training
The University of New Mexico’s School of Medicine has long been recognized internationally as innovators in Medical Education. The Department of Psychiatry shares this same commitment to excellence as we provide the highest quality of graduate medical education to our psychiatry residents and fellows.
The University of New Mexico School of Medicine Department of Psychiatry offers a four-year training program that is fully accredited by the American College of Graduate Medical Education. The program offers a full complement of clinical and didactic experiences to satisfy all requirements of the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. In addition to the general psychiatry residency the UNM Department of Psychiatry offers:
· ACGME accredited Fellowship in child and adolescent psychiatry
· ACGME accredited Fellowship in Geriatric Psychiatry
· ACGME accredited Fellowship in Addiction Psychiatry
PGY-5 Post Residency Program in Rural/Public Psychiatry
