VAMC provides residents the opportunity to work with outstanding Department of Psychiatry VA-Based faculty caring for veterans in a broad array of clinical settings. An affiliate of the University of New Mexico School of Medicine, the VMAC includes 24 psychiatric beds which support an acute general psychiatry program, a transitional program, a specialized post-traumatic stress disorders program, a substance use disorders program, an outstanding psychiatric consultation service and a variety of additional outpatient clinical settings.
