Radiologic Sciences Program

Welcome to the Radiologic Sciences Program at the University of New Mexico Department of Radiology. The University of New Mexico School of Medicine, working in conjunction with University of New Mexico Hospital, provides comprehensive training that prepares each student for a career in Nuclear Medicine or Radiography. A Bachelor of Science in Radiologic Sciences is offered for each field depending upon the needs of the individual.

Each program involves academic coursework combined with intensive clinical training at various medical facilities throughout the city. When not in the classroom, each student works under the supervision of clinical staff on a wide array of equipment and learns how to perform the various procedures associated with each type of examination.

Students completing program requirements are eligible to take the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) examination. Nuclear medicine students are also eligible to take the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) examination.
