All Investigators are required to take training in Human Subjects Protections prior to starting human research. HRPO submissions will be checked to ensure Investigators have completed the required training. An Investigator is any person who is responsible for the design, conduct, or reporting of a UNM human research activity. For these purposes, any individuals who are performing data entry and do not have access to identifiable information are not required to complete the training.
Current List of Completed Training updated 5/02/13
HRPO will accept HRP Training or CITI to fulfill the requirement for Human Research Protections Training. To find more information about each module and instructions on how to complete a module, please click HRP Training or CITI to expand. HRPO recommends you take CITI. At present, HRP training is outdated and needs to be revised to reflect the recent and proposed future changes.
"The CITI Program is a subscription service providing research ethics education to all members of the research community." CITI certificates are good for two years from date of completion. At time of the CITI 2 year expiration, the HRP training will be required, every two years.
~ Available in Spanish
NOTE: The HRPO will accept other forms of Human Subjects Training (NIH), please check with our office!
