The Research Allocation Committee (RAC) consists of 13 to 15 faculty members representing both basic science and clinical departments serving for three-year terms. RAC members will review applications quarterly. Where appropriate and necessary, outside reviewer's opinions may be solicited. Reviews will be based on scientific merit and a NIH study section scoring system will be used. All proposals will receive a priority rating by RAC members, and ranking will be based on the score, as well as, consideration of the stated goals of RAC funding (see "note" in Eligible Project Categories section). Applicants will receive written copies of the reviewers' comments.
Current funding levels for projects recommended by the committee are currently limited to $25,000. Funding for Postdoctoral Fellows. Funding is generally limited to a maximum of one year and proposals in categories A and B are given the highest priority.
