Centers & Institutes
Centers & institutes are an integral part of the culture at the SOM. The Office of the Vice Provost for Research (UNM Main Campus) and the HSC Research Council are in the process of developing procedures and guidelines as to the establishment and continued support of centers & institutes at UNM.
Research Partners
Research partners play a vital role in the research done at the SOM. Partners can not only be found in departments and HSC colleges but also with UNM Main Campus departments such as Chemistry, Engineering, and Physics. The SOM also has strong partnerships outside of UNM, for example the National Labs in New Mexico and Lovelace Respiratory Research Institute.
Shared Facilities
The SOM has access to many shared facilities that are located throughout the HSC. While these facilities may be housed in and supported by a particular department, center, or college, their services are available to all faculty with a small service fee.
Technology Transfer & Commercialization
Over the past years, technology transfer & commercialization has grown to have a large impact on any institution doing research. The SOM has access to resources both within and without UNM to help facilitate this process.
