The summer months are perfect for golfing at one of our 14 golf courses,
mountain and road bicycling on our breathtaking trails, hiking and rock
climbing in the Sandia Mountains, camping at Jemez Falls…the list goes on
and on! In the winter these same mountains turn into a skier and snowboarder’s haven. With mountains
stretching to 13,000 feet, these altitudes, coupled with New Mexico's light,
fluffy snow and brilliant sunshine, create some of the finest skiing and
boarding conditions in the west.
Known as a cultural melting-pot, New Mexico has a very unique historical
background. Culture junkies can spend days strolling around Albuquerque’s
Old Town, checking out the Indian Pueblo and National Hispanic Cultural
Centers, shopping at the Plaza in Santa Fe, and eating as much of our
mouth-watering New Mexican food as possible!
While on the subject of food, it’s probably safe to say that most non-New
Mexicans have probably never been asked the question, “red or green?” while
dining at a restaurant. As New Mexico’s official question, this refers to
the choice between red or green chile on your food, and is a question that
you’ll hear quite often in our state. New Mexicans have always been crazy
