Frequently Asked Questions

Thank you for interest in our program. Listed below are the answers to some of your frequently asked questions.

Q) Do you accept unofficial transcripts?

A) At this time we only require unofficial transcripts. However as we move into the selection process, we may contact you for more information. And if selected you may need to provide official transcripts.

Q) Will housing be provided to students?

A) There are currently no accommodations for living arrangements. The pay was set to include housing expenses that may be incurred by the student.  However we will work with selected students to help them find appropriate housing. 

Q) Are newly graduated students allowed to apply?

A) We are not accepting applications from newly graduated (Fall 2009 and Spring 2010)students.

Q) Can out-of-state students apply?

A) We are accepting applications from INBRE Southwestern States (AK, ID, MT, NM. NV & WY).

Q) Can I attach a personal statement?

A) You are allowed to attach any documentation you feel is necessary to convey an actual portrayal of you.

Q) Do you require a letter of recommendation or personal statement?

A) Yes, we do require a letter of recommendation. As we move into the selection process, we may contact you for more information.

Q) When will we be notified about your decision?

A) We will contact students approximately four to six weeks after the deadline.

Q) When does the program start?

A) June 1 to August 17 is a range that students can choose up to ten consecutive weeks they work. Once we have selected our participants, they may begin as early as June 1 or later depending on their needs.

Q) What are the requirements for the program?

A) While there are no definitive quantitative requirements, we are looking for highly-qualified students with an interest in scientific research.

Q) Can I hand deliver my application?

A) Yes, you can deliver your application. We are located on north campus in the Health Science Service Building in room 223.
