It is SFCR policy to train all new facility users to operate benchtop analyzers free of charge. Each new user is asked to bring in a sample of cells or beads prepared appropriately for the assay to be performed and is trained individually with these materials. The preparation of suitable positive and negative control samples is emphasized. Facility personnel are available at all times to help with troubleshooting instrument problems, analyzing data and to generally facilitate the learning experience. Once users have demonstrated a suitable level of proficiency and responsibility they are allowed to use the facility on evenings and weekends when facility personnel are not present.
