The repository will be a vehicle to facilitate the preparation of tissue Type B for active HRRC approved research projects that have unique HRRC approved consent mechanisms. In order to do this correctly, we will communicate with the HRRC to verify what was approved and what is being asked of the Tissue Bank. Specimens that are handled, HRRC status verified, and immediately transferred to requesting PI will not be accessioned into the tissue bank, but a record of the transaction will be kept. Consent forms for individual projects will eventually include text to include tissue banking in the project as modeled after our proposed Tissue Bank Consent Form.
