Teacher & Educational Development (TED) plays an integral role in growing today’s teachers and tomorrow’s medical professionals through a comprehensive program of educational support.

VISION

The vision of Teacher & Educational Development is to facilitate and promote the development of highly skilled educators and learners within the UNM School of Medicine and the broader medical education community through scholarship, leadership, and innovation. The best evidence and research in education will be applied to creating significant learning experiences for future healthcare providers that will lead to achieving our ultimate goal of enhancing the health of the public.

 

MISSION

TED faculty and staff work collaboratively with UNM SOM faculty associates in providing a comprehensive program of educational development and support to meet institutional needs for workshops, expertise, and consulting in the areas of educational skills training, educational leadership and scholarship, new developments and best practices in education, cross-institutional medical education site visits, support of the tutorial and clinical practice skills components of the undergraduate medical curriculum, and residents as teachers.
