Objectives:
After this session, participants should be able to:
• Define the phrase "formative assessment" and compare
and contrast formative with summative assessment.
• Describe the impact of formative testing on learning.
• Review the characteristics of a varied set of practical
"classroom" assessment
techniques that provide student and faculty feedback on students'
achievement
of learning objectives.
• Choose specific "classroom" assessment techniques that will
address commonly
encountered student learning difficulties.
