After this session, participants should be able to:
• Describe the four theory-based, research-derived principles of
how people learn
(foundational knowledge).
• Identify specific strategies for applying these principles
in your teaching venue to
better activate learning (application).
• Describe specific implications for how people learn to how
you teach (integration).
• Critically reflect on your own teaching assumptions,
beliefs, values, styles, and
methods (human dimension).
• Revitalize your interest in and job of teaching (caring).
• Reflect on what you have learned and how you learned it, and
develop a plan for
continued self-directed learning (learning how to learn).
Length/Frequency:
This is a three-hour workshop is offered two or three times a year. See Calendar
