February 3, 2016 Administrative Law Judge rules in favor of OCR enforcement, requiring Lincare, Inc. to pay $239,800

The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009, in Section 13411 of the HITECH Act (Health Information Technology for Economic and Clinical Health Act) requires HHS to provide for periodic audits to ensure that covered entities and business associates are complying with HIPAA Privacy and Security Rules and Breach notification standards.
