Biography

Dr. Ketai is a board certified in radiology and internal medicine. He graduated from University of Michigan Medical School in 1978 and completed an internship in internal medicine there. After volunteering for two years in the Indian Health Service on the Navajo reservation he returned to the University of Michigan to complete a Residency in Internal Medicine and a Fellowship in Pulmonary Medicine and Critical Care .
In 1991 he entered a Residency in Diagnostic Radiology at the University of New Mexico and after completing it in 1995 has served on the UNM faculty as a thoracic radiologist. Dr. Ketai currently serves on the Executive Council of the Society of Thoracic Radiology.

Personal Statement

Professor Emeritus thoracic radiologist who is double boarded in internal medicine and radiology. Dr. Ketai has taught and investigated multiple topics inside and outside the thorax. His passion, however, remains the imaging of pulmonary infectious diseases.

Research and Scholarship

Primary academic interest has been the imaging of pulmonary infectious diseases, beginning with the initial radiologic manifestations of Hantavirus Pulmonary Syndrome. More recently he has served on the initial RSNA scientific panel addressing COVID-19.
Collaborating with Dr. Yuko Komesu, he has also participated in research on urinary incontinence, particularly on its relationship to sensory processing in the brain .

Prior research has included imaging of infectious diseases in the lung, airway imaging in asthma, aerosol deposition in the lung He has also served as RO-1 Co-Principal Investigator: R01
