Biography

Marc C. Mabray, MD, is a radiologist and an Associate Professor and Chief of Neuroradiology in the Radiology Department at the University of New Mexico. His primary area of focus is in neuroradiology including brain, head and neck, and spine imaging and minor procedures in adults and children. Dr. Mabray is from Albuquerque, NM. In 2006, he earned his B.A. in Biological Sciences from Cornell University in Ithaca, NY. He graduated with honors from the University of New Mexico School of Medicine in 2010. He completed his residency in radiology, the NIH-funded T32 research program, and neuroradiology fellowship all at the University of California San Francisco. He then returned to the University of New Mexico in 2016 and currently serves as the Chief of Neuroradiology, Director of Neuroradiology Research, Director of Stroke Imaging, Director of the Neuroradiology Clerkship, and Director of Mentorship and Faculty Development for the Radiology Department. He is board certified in Radiology with a subspecialty certification/certificate of added qualification (CAQ) in Neuroradiology.

Personal Statement

Dr. Mabray is actively involved in research including being involved as co-investigator on grants with the Neurology Department. This includes being the study neuroradiologist for the NIH-funded multi-institutional Brain and Vascular Malformations Consortium (BVMC) study on cerebral cavernous malformations. He has written many scholarly articles and given presentations in his areas of expertise. Dr. Mabray is actively involved in teaching pre-clinical and clinical phase medical students including running the Neuroradiology Clerkship, teaching radiology trainees, and providing mentorship and career counseling.

Dr. Mabray is the Director of Neuroradiology Research and sits on the Research Steering Committee for the Department of Radiology. He is actively engaged in research including as co-investigator on grants with the Neurology Department. This includes being the study neuroradiologist for the NIH-funded multi-institutional Brain and Vascular Malformations Consortium (BVMC) study on cerebral cavernous malformations. He actively publishes and mentors trainees in their projects.
