Dr. Ford is from a small town south of Salt Lake City, Utah. She attended the University of Utah and obtained a bachelors degree in Public Health in 2014, and then entered medical school at the University of Utah. She graduated with her MD in 2018, and then matched into a pediatric residency at the University of New Mexico. She completed a 3 year pediatric residency, and then stayed on for an additional year as chief resident, working with the residency as well as junior faculty as a hospitalist. She now works full time as a Pediatric Hospitalist, and has loved her time here at UNM!

Personal Statement

My residency and chief residency have provided many opportunities for growth and achievement. In addition to treating countless patients with COVID-19, I also gained the unique perspective of residency management during a pandemic at a resident-dependent hospital. I developed skills in managing residents’ needs and concerns, while contributing to their education through modeling clinical guidelines, Morning Reports, and bedside and didactic teaching.
