Patients living in Indian Country must travel for hours to see HCV, HIV or tuberculosis specialists. And local health care centers often have too few specialty resources for patients and providers, who face unique geographic challenges.
Our Indian Country ECHO programs are designed to enhance clinician’s ability to screen, treat and manage patients with these conditions through didactic and case presentations, and recommendations from peers and a multidisciplinary team of specialists.
Through our program, we are building a virtual community of learning and increasing access to high-quality specialty care in areas where patients may not otherwise have access.

ECHO, Gallup Indian Medical Center and the New Mexico regional partner site of South Central AIDS Education and Training Center collaborated to provide a multidisciplinary team of HIV experts for these programs. In addition, collaboration between New Mexico, Arizona and Navajo Nation departments of health make these resources possible.
