Following an acute infection of COVID-19, a substantial proportion of patients experience long-term symptoms, including: fatigue, muscle pain, chest pain, blood clots and many others.
The goal of the Schmidt Initiative for Long Covid Global ECHO Webinar Series is to help local providers in low- and middle-income countries identify, diagnose and treat patients with these symptoms.
Each webinar session includes a presentation by a subject-matter expert on emerging best practices and models of care, as well as a facilitated question-and-answer session.
Example topics include: neurocognitive, pulmonary, and cardiac manifestations of long COVID; pediatric post-COVID condition; physical therapy; and practical strategies for long COVID symptom management.
This webinar series begins on March 21 and meets virtually fourth week of the month. The first topic, "Long COVID: Understanding the Biology and Current Treatment Approaches," will be offered:
To encourage participation around the world, we will be providing the same webinar topic twice each month.
The webinar will be offered in English with simultaneous interpretation in Arabic, French, Portuguese and Spanish.
