Enhance and strengthen the capacity of countries to conduct effective surveillance activities, including continuing professional development, sharing and discussing surveillance data internally and externally, developing and implementing plans of action based on review of surveillance and laboratory data, and advocacy and mobilization of resources.
Enhance and strengthen use of information in a timely manner to support a rapid evidence-based response to suspect epidemics and outbreaks; monitor the impact of interventions, i.e., declining incidence, spread, case fatality, and facilitate evidence-based response to public health events.
Improve the flow of surveillance information between and within levels of the national health system, regionally and at the continental level to ensure a continuous and timely provision and use of information for public health decision making and response.
Sessions occur weekly for one hour, starting mid-September on Mondays.
Led by the WCOs and WHO/AFRO, thie teleECHO includes the IDSR national focal points (WCO IDSR focal persons and the national surveillance officer at the MoH) and IDSR national trainers from 47 countries (approximately 300 people).
This will be facilitated at country level by the National IDSR FP and WHO DPC
