More than 30,000 people in the United States were diagnosed with HIV in 2020, with a disproporationate number belonging to minority popuations. Due to the stigma of HIV, and logistical hurdles for those living in rural and under-resourced areas, patients may not be able to access treatment or prevention services easily.
Our program uses the ECHO Model, and other learning modalities, to build the region’s health care capacity in prevention and treatment services for patients with—or at-risk of—HIV in New Mexico, El Paso, TX, and those living near the U.S.-Mexico border.
