Through our program, community health and peer support workers gain knowledge and insight on working with clients who have opioid use disorder.
Participants gain a greater understanding of harm-reduction techniques; they will learn when and how to reverse overdoses, treatment options for chronic pain and opioid use disorder and how best to support clients as they move through the stages of behavior change.
Our spring cohort launches on March 3. We meet weekly on Thursdays from 1:30 p.m. to 3 p.m. Mountain Time.

Supervisor permission is required to ensure ongoing commitment to the 12-week curriculum.
This program is funded by the State Opioid Response grant from the New Mexico Human Services Department and the UNM Psychiatry Services Department.
