Pregnancy-related and neonatal diseases and deaths are serious national priorities that require multidisciplinary partnerships and collaborations to make meaningful progress in our communities.
Our Improving Perinatal Health program is helping to combat these issues in maternal medicine by increasing awareness of best practices in New Mexico, the Four Corners and the southwest border regions.
Our program focuses on implementing perinatal safety bundles, which are created by the Alliance for Innovation on Maternal Health and serve as roadmaps for improving perinatal care. The educational toolkits share resources, including emergency-treatment protocols, training materials, checklists and guidelines for quality improvement.
Our program brings local and national content experts together, using the ECHO Model, to conduct multidisciplinary case discussions and share real examples, providing education and support for those working to improve perinatal outcomes in their local communities.
Our program meets virtually every first and third Monday of the month from noon to 1 p.m. Mountain Time.
