We were founded to meet the needs of New Mexicans using video conferencing and telementoring – a mission we still serve every day. By sharing best practices, ECHO improves health care and education in rural and underserved communities, growing expertise and improving outcomes across the state.
ECHO supports the state’s priorities in behavioral health, diabetes, substance use disorders, hepatitis C, child wellbeing and education, and COVID-19 preparedness, enabling community providers to learn best practices in education and medicine in New Mexico’s 33 counties.
Project ECHO has trained, mentored and supported thousands of health care providers and teachers, who are now able to better serve their patients and students. As a result, 100,000 New Mexicans have benefited.
