Allergy Testing and Treatments

Your allergies shouldn’t slow you down. Your doctor may recommend an allergy test to see what triggers your symptoms. This can be done via a blood test or a skin test.

In the skin test, your doctor or nurse will put a tiny bit of an allergen on your skin and then gently prick you with a small needle. If you are allergic to a substance, your skin around the prick will swell and become red. This test can show any potential allergen within 20 minutes.

Once we know what you are allergic to, we can recommend lifestyle changes or medication to control your symptoms. Some allergies may be life-threatening. Your doctor will show you how to use an EpiPen® if you have a severe allergy.

Immune System Conditions

Your immune system may not act the way it should. Our team of internal medicine physicians can diagnosis and treat immune disorders, including:

  • Asthma
  • Celiac disease
  • Eczema
  • Inflammatory bowel disease
  • Lupus
  • Multiple sclerosis
  • Psoriasis
  • Rheumatoid arthritis
  • Type 1 Diabetes

You may need medicine or a procedure to control your symptoms. We can also help manage infections and offer IV therapy to boost your immune system. Your doctor may refer you to another provider, such as a dermatologist or gastroenterologist, for advanced care.
