The University of New Mexico School-Based Health Center (SBHC) program provides quality direct care through integrated primary care, behavioral health services and health promotion and risk reduction services. The centers are open during school hours and offer services provided by licensed health care professionals such as physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, social workers, clinical assistants and dental hygienists. Services are available to all students – regardless of their ability to pay – and include primary care, mental health, referral, and prevention services. The SBHC’s are located in the Albuquerque Public School District (APS) at the following sites: Albuquerque High, East San Jose Elementary, Highland High, Van Buren Middle, Washington Middle, and Manzano High

FRONTERAS is a rural, outpatient, school-based health center (SBHC) telehealth initiative focused on increasing access to and improved management of pediatric chronic disease.
