What is Telehealth?
The UNM Health System uses state-of-the-art video conferencing technology to improve your care by connecting patients in rural and underserved communities throughout New Mexico with our specialists. The center connects UNM Health physicians with patients so that you don’t have to leave your town for a medical appointment. It’s like a doctor’s visit by teleconference.
Tele-consultations are available to rural hospitals for:
- Emergency Rooms
- Pediatric emergency medicine
- Pediatric heart care
- Telepsychiatry – assessments, medications management and behavioral health counseling
- Obstetrics, including genetic counseling
