Pastoral care plays a role in your overall well-being. That’s why UNM Health System provides confidential spiritual and emotional support for patients, family, staff and volunteers, regardless of faith background.
The UNMH Pastoral Care Department provides access to spiritual care as part of the holistic, multidisciplinary team approach when caring for patients. Staff Chaplains provide compassionate spiritual and emotional support for all UNMH patients, family members and staff, inclusive of all faith backgrounds and religious affiliation.
We have a strong network established with many religious leaders whose spiritual support may be requested. It is our goal to link patients and families with their religious traditions and spiritual resources. Upon request, a Chaplain will call one's specific Community Faith Representative to come and provide the desired support.
