Hello! My name is Andy. I’m originally from western Massachusetts but have also lived in North Carolina, Ohio, and Texas. I went to college at Trinity University and medical school at the Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine. After completing my clinical rotations at the public county hospital in Fort Worth, I knew that I wanted to train at a program where I could work with patients from underserved and historically marginalized backgrounds. I love family medicine because it allows us to build long-term relationships with patients and creates a conduit connecting the medical problems they face with the larger context of the social environments making up their day to day lives.
I have specific interests in addiction medicine, reproductive health, sports medicine, and medical education and aim to become a physician that advocates for equitable access for all. I’m honored to join UNM because I know it will allow me to pursue all of these interests in a safety net health system while also experiencing the beauty of New Mexico.
Outside of medicine I love to play guitar, run, and drink coffee. I'm excited to explore the mountains and coffee shops of Albuquerque with my partner Laura and my dog Izzy.
