Fadi Jamaleddin Ahmad, MD, MPH

 I believe the best medicine starts with being heard and honoring each patient’s story. Growing up as a Palestinian child in a rural town in Venezuela, I saw how limited access to care could delay diagnoses and increase suffering. These experiences shaped my commitment to becoming a physician who listens attentively, advocates passionately, and ensures no patient feels ignored. For me, care extends beyond prescriptions. It’s about building trust and developing plans that respect each patient’s culture, values, and daily life.

I am passionate about preventive medicine, women’s health, global health, and providing compassionate, timely acute care when it’s most needed. Family medicine enables me to care for patients at every stage of life, from supporting healthy pregnancies to managing chronic conditions and addressing urgent issues. I am especially dedicated to serving Native American, Hispanic, and other underserved communities, both locally and globally, where health disparities exist, but resilience remains strong.

I chose UNM because it feels like a second home—rooted in a community, focused on underserved populations, and committed to compassionate, team-based care. My goal is to be a physician that people feel comfortable with—someone who listens, understands, and supports them throughout their health journey.
