Why UNM is My Choice for Residency: I chose UNM after completing a Sub-I with the Gecko team and falling in love with the program! It was such a friendly and encouraging environment where I knew I would thrive as a resident. Additionally, as the only level 1 trauma pediatric ED in the state, UNM had the exposure I wanted in my journey to becoming a successful PEM physician. I was also drawn to the amazing outdoor access that Albuquerque and New Mexico boast so I could escape to the mountains whenever I had a day off. Lastly, as my partner and I await our first child, I wanted to be a part of a program and a community where my family felt supported so I could be the best resident and (most importantly) the best dad and partner I could possibly be! |
